Biotechnology Program, Trinity Western University

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) major offered.

Canada is one of the leading countries in developing its biotechnology industry with over 90 biotechnological companies in the Greater Vancouver area alone. Situated in the Fraser Valley, TWU is poised to contribute to this fast-growing industry through our new Biotechnology program. No matter how you choose to apply your biotechnology degree, you’ll graduate from TWU knowing that you’ve acquired the knowledge, experience, ethical expertise, and contacts necessary to forge your way into this exciting and innovative field.

Features and Benefits

Four streams of a B.Sc. in Biotechnology are offered. Students can choose from a B.Sc. in Biotechnology, a Multidisciplinary B.Sc. in Biotechnology and Chemistry, or an Interdisciplinary degree in Biotechnology and Business Administration. An Honours track B.Sc. in Biotechnology is available for students continuing onto graduate school.

Small class sizes mean students receive individual mentoring by professors and teaching assistants.

Most courses include a high laboratory content and students are trained in state-of-the-art, fully-equipped facilities.

Mandatory internships and co-op placements allow students to work shoulder-to-shoulder with professors on research projects, with leading experts in local biotechnology companies, or in government agencies through TWU’s Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa.

Students learn to address ethical issues from a thoughtful Christian perspective.
