Why do you charge for job postings?
The LifeSciences BC Job Board is a benefit that we have provided to members for a number of years. The volume of job posting has become so significant over the last year that we have hired additional administrative support to facilitate this service. As a result, beginning January 1, 2015, we began charging for job postings. This fee is approximately 60% less than other online job boards and will allow for LifeSciences BC to continue to offer this service to our community.
How many views does your job board get?
Our job board gets approximately 60,000 views a month.
Do you offer volume discounts on job postings?
We offer the following volume discounts for members on job postings.
10% discount on the first 10 job postings (=$180.00 per posting for ONE month, $280 for TWO months) within a year
20% discount on the first 25 job postings (= $160 per posting for ONE month, $240 for TWO months) within a year
30% discount on the first 50 job postings (= $140 per posting for ONE month, $210 for TWO months) within a year
50% discount on subsequent (over 50) job postings (= $100 per posting for ONE month, $150 for TWO months) within a year
Please note that the counter for job posting number resets every year. For members, this will reset on April 1 when you renew.
For sponsors, this will reset at the time of your sponsorship renewal.
If I purchase a bundle of job postings, do unused job postings have an expiry date?
Yes. Our membership year runs from April 1 to March 31. All job postings bundles you purchase can be used any time during the fiscal year.** At the end of the membership year, all unused job postings “expire”. But we offer refunds! See answer to next question. **For sponsors, we go by sponsorship year! Not sure when that is? Contact Elizabeth Sun, our Membership and Sponsorship Manager. Can I get a refund on unused job postings past the end of the membership year?
Yes, we offer refunds on job postings you’ve purchased but did not get a chance to use by year end. But refund is based on the appropriate price model! What does that mean? See below:
Your purchase 50 job postings at the 30% discount. You only use up 20 postings by March 31 (our year-end). Your refund: Those 20 postings are charged at regular member rate, because you didn’t reach the minimum volume (25 postings) to qualify for volume discounts. Anything you’ve paid above that gets refunded to you!
Your purchase 50 job postings at the 30% discount. You only use up 30 postings by March 31 (our year-end). Your refund: These 30 postings are charged at the 20% discount rate (you get the 20% discount because you exceeded 25 postings, but you don’t get the 30% discount because you didn’t reach 50). Anything you’ve paid above that gets refunded to you!
