About LifeSciences BC's Events

LifeSciences BC holds numerous events for our members in an effort to provide quality networking, mentoring and education opportunities. Below is a list of the types of events we host throughout the year - to which many more are added throughout the year. Breakfast Speaking Series

The Breakfast Speaking Series is our longest-standing event series - and one of our most popular. Held four times a year, these breakfasts include two short presentations by local biotech companies, followed by a keynote address by an industry leader. These breakfasts typically attract a cross-section of approximately 100 of our life sciences community members. The Breakfast Speaking Series is proudly presented by McCarthyTétrault LLP.

Industry Roundtables

Our Industry Roundtables are held in order to provide a forum for members of our life sciences community with similar interest to come together and learn or discuss current issues facing their companies. Industry experts from a variety of related fields are brought in to present on a range of issues.

Biotech 101 - Introduction to the life sciences industry

Taught by Dr. Paul Barran, this popular two-day course provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles, technologies and applications of biotechnology in the life siences. This program is recommended for those working in the life sciences space without a scientific background. Course outline

LifeSciences British Columbia Awards

LifeSciences BC is proud to host the LifeSciences British Columbia Awards every April to honour outstanding contributions made by members of B.C.'s life sciences community. This event has evolved to become the premier evening of the year for life sciences in our province and we look forward having you join us.

Salmon Barbeque

Held each June at the scenic Cecil Green House, LifeSciences British Columbia's Annual Salmon Barbeque has become one of our most popular events. It offers members of our life sciences community the chance to come out and enjoy a great meal in the company of peers in a breathtaking setting - and without the formality of a sit-down banquet.

BioPartnering North America

Hundreds of biotech and pharma dealmakers come to Vancouver, BC every year for the Annual BioPartnering North America conference. Produced by Technology Vision Group and LifeSciences BC and hosted by BioAlberta and BIOTECanada with the support of industry leaders, the conference continues to be a key meeting for biotech business development executives from across the globe.
