LifeSciences BC Policies

LifeSciences BC is a not-for-profit, non-government, industry association that supports and represents the human life sciences community of British Columbia through leadership, facilitation of investment and partnering, advocacy, and promotion of our world-class science and industry.

The Life sciences sector, including biopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical technology, digital health and medical devices, are integrated into our organization and all that we do in ensuring that no life sciences sector is working in isolation; the sector comes together in a comprehensive, complementary and coordinated fashion.

Throughout the year, LifeSciences BC undertakes numerous events, programs and projects in support of these sectors. These include public policy initiatives that require ongoing and consistent collaboration with both the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.

Recently we have actively coordinated formal discussions between government and our life science constituency which include; Policy Initiatives  – Industry Round-tables; Lobbying – A Day at the BC Legislature; Committee Work –  Ministry of Jobs, Tourism & Skills Training Technology Sector Working Group participation; International Awareness – Overseas Trade Missions; and Provincial Representation – Ottawa Missions.

The LifeSciences BC key policy initiatives are: Access to Data; Access to Capital; Access to Talent and Access to R&D
