BioMark is focused on the research, development and commercialization of its novel Acetylated Biomarker Assay (ABA) Red Alert technology. This is a patented screening technology that is used for the determination of tumour burden. The technology has broad applications and is suited for determining the presence of solid tumours as well as predicting tumour response to treatment.
BioMark's technology platform works by following a particular the enzyme (spermine/spermidine N-acetyltransferase (SSAT)) that is upregulated in solid tumours. Following the over-expressed enzyme of tumours by the detection system is the basis of determining tumour burden. The detection technology is designed to provide tumour information that is highly sensitive, reliable and specific for early stage "red alerts" for solid tumours.
