viDA Therapeutics Inc. (viDA), was incorporated April 2008, and is an early stage biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of first-in-class drugs for the treatment of age-related conditions associated with chronic inflammation and/or tissue degeneration.
The Company is developing proprietary inhibitors against a family of protein degrading enzymes, called granzymes, that have been shown to play a central and pivotal role in the destruction of proteins vital for vascular and tissue integrity. These notable discoveries offer the potential to treat and/or diagnose several age-related degenerative diseases, including life-threatening cardiovascular conditions that are associated with a loss of blood vessel integrity (e.g., aneurysms, unstable angina, atherosclerosis, and stroke), rheumatoid arthritis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The Company's initial product development program is geared towards developing an anti-Granzyme B therapeutic for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
In addition to chronic inflammatory disorders, a strong opportunity exists for applying these inhibitors to lifestyle markets for age-related wrinkling and hair loss.
