EnWave Corporation is an R&D company developing commercial applications for its proprietary vacuum-microwave technology.

The Company's bioREV radiant energy vacuum technology is used to stabilize and dehydrate vaccines and antibodies, giving these pharmaceuticals a longer shelf life and enabling worldwide shipment without refrigeration. EnWave’s nutraREV technology is used in the food industry to dry fruits, vegetables and other products more quickly and less expensively than conventional methods.

EnWave’s proprietary bioREV technology, presently in the pre-commercial testing phase, could provide an efficient cost-effective means of producing shelf-stable vaccines that are easily transported to international health care facilities or stored in case of major disease outbreaks. bioREV is also being used by tissue engineering researchers at UBC to create porous artificial bone scaffolds impregnated with active drugs and/or bone regeneration compounds.

In the food sector, EnWave’s nutraREV technology has demonstrated more efficient processing, resulting in foods with more nutrients, better flavor, color and texture than foods dehydrated by traditional freeze-dry or air-dry methods.

EnWave’s patented technology combines microwaves with vacuum pressure to control the temperature at which liquids boil and subsequently evaporate. Low temperature liquid evaporation is a major advancement in drying sensitive organisms that are easily damaged by freezing or boiling.
