Fourth Annual BioPartnering North America an Unprecedented Success
Over 900 biotech and pharma dealmakers came to sunny Vancouver for the 4th Annual BioPartnering North America conference last week. Hosted as a partnership between BC Biotech, BioAlberta, BIOTECanada and Technology Vision Group LLC, with the support of industry leaders, the conference continues to be a key meeting for biotech business development executives from across the globe.
Delegate attendance for the 2006 event was up 6% and there were also increases in the number of companies (475, up 4%) and pharmaceutical companies (71, up 48%) in attendance. The significant increase in pharma presence suggests that pharma wants to do deals with biotech, and that BioPartnering North America is the place to do it.
For local and international media coverage of BioPartnering North America, visit the In the Media section.
Following BPN, BC Biotech, together with Leading Edge BC, Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, QLT, and Technology Vision Group hosted "The Business of Biotechnology - Why British Columbia" for invited BPN delegates including pharmaceutical executives, trade commissioners, and consul generals. The goal of the event was to demonstrate British Columbia’s enabling for innovation environment for R&D and the factors that have helped local companies suceed.
