Sukhdeep Brar of Yale Secondary School in Abbotsford, BC and an entrant in the British Columbia 2006 Sanofi-Aventis Biotechnology Challenge has been accepted to participate in the "Gene Researcher for a Week" program.  Sukhdeep, who is "really looking forward towards this year’s spring break", is one of only 30 students from across Canada chosen to spend their break in the lab of one of Canada's leading gene researchers.

Alexis Braun (UBC Science student), Jennifer Chan (UVic Law Student), William Chow (SFU Alumnus), Charles Otieno (SFU Biotech MBA Candidate), Denise R. Prindiville-Kirby (SFU Biotech MBA Candidate, UBC Alumnus), Fredrik Rook (SFU Biotech MBA Candidate), Amie Sergas (Formerly of StemCell Technologies Inc.), Sarah Serl (Thompson Rivers University alumnus) and Ivan Waissbluth (UBC PhD student in Experimental Medicine) are among students awarded scholarships to attend BioPartnering North America 2006. Conference producer Technology Vision Group, together with BIOTECanada, finance scholarships to allow students from across Canada to attend BPN. The scholarships cover airfare, accommodations and on-site expenses.
