Adnavance Technologies Inc. is an early-stage company formed in late 2002 developing enabling technology applications that use the conductivity properties of both normal and novel, metallic, forms of DNA, aimed at large biosensor/molecular diagnostics and energy generation/management markets.
In particular, Adnavance has developed “M-DNA”, a novel, man-made, hybrid material. M-DNA is a composite form of DNA based on the company’s proprietary method for introducing metal ions along the DNA’s double helix. Amongst its properties, this material enables the highly efficient exchange or conduction of electrons/electron energy by way of a mechanism fundamentally different from that governing electron transfer in a metal wire.
