LifeSciences BC Announces Appointment of Soren Harbel as LifeSciences BC's Ambassador to the Medicon ValleyLifeSciences BC recently established a partnership with our counterparts from Denmark and southern Sweden, the Medicon Valley Alliance, who selected British Columbia to be the sole Canadian member of their international Ambassador Network. This network stretches around the world to ten top current and future life sciences clusters. Under this program, life sciences ambassadors from the Medicon Valley will spend three years in each of the leading global centres selected in order to explore all levels of collaboration and partnership. Simultaneously, each of the network centers will send their own Ambassador to the Medicon Valley to do the same. It is an incredibly exciting program that will directly link British Columbia to the world’s top companies and research institutions, provide validation of our stature amongst the world’s best, and will certainly result in immeasurable benefits for our province.LifeSciences BC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Soren Harbel as LifeSciences BC's Ambassador to the Medicon Valley. Many of you will know Soren from his previous roles as VP of the BC Innovation Council and ADM with the Ministry of Technology, Trade and Economic Development. Over the next week, Soren will be meeting with as many BC-based companies and research institutions to discuss how he may be of service during his three-year post in Denmark. During that time, he will be actively exploring opportunities for BC-based life sciences organizations such as your own to collaborate with not only organizations based in the Medicon Valley, but others throughout Europe and other Ambassador Network jurisdictions. Any company looking to expand their collaborations with Europe is encouraged to work with Soren at this time.
