Are You Going to BIO? Be Sure to Let LifeSciences BC Know That You Plan to Attend!
BIO 2009 - Atlanta, Georgia
May 18 - 21
LifeSciences BC will be at BIO this year, and will be coordinating activities and events for our BC delegates. Please ensure we know you'll be at BIO, as we will have information to share about invitation-only and VIP events and discounts available to you. Without your response, we won't be able to impart this information. Please contact Rosine Hage-Moussa at rhagemoussa@lifesciencesbc.ca to confirm who will attend from your organization.
Due to the immense resources required to mount a provincial pavilion, LifeSciences BC is refocusing our participation at BIO this year and will not be coordinating a British Columbia Pavilion, but organizations are still offered the opportunity to exhibit within the Canadian pavilion should they not delay. If you have any questions or wish to discuss this further, please contact Jen Leng, coordinator of the Canadian Pavilion with Industry Canada (613 952-5866).
There are many exciting events planned at and around BIO - below are just a few that you should ensure you attend! For more information, see our summary web page.

Canadian Presentations
Canada: Your Innovation Partner in Cancer Stem Cell Research
Tuesday May 19, 2009, 11AM-11:30AM
Georgia World Congress Centre -- Room B308
Description: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) represent an exciting and promising new avenue
for cancer research as their presence, in many malignancies studied so
far, may explain the ability of tumours to proliferate, metastasize and
survive traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The ability
to extract, culture and expand cancer stem or progenitor cell
populations is central to advancing research and to enabling a rigorous
investigation of the potential of cancer stem cells as targets for new,
more specific, therapeutics. Read more...
