LifeSciences BC provides Access to Industry Insights in Recent Industry Roundtable/Medical Device Seminar: A Case Study of Life Science Commercialization January 21, 2009 Members from our medical device and biopharmaceutical community came together on January 21 to learn about some of the challenges companies face when commercializing medical technologies or biopharmaceutical research; when facing lack of seed-financing and human resources; and informational and cultural barriers between universities and companies. Our panel -- a group of experienced CEOs from the medical devices and biopharmaceutical industry, faced all of these and will shared their personal experiences, insight and thoughts on what’s worked (and what hasn’t) in dealing with these hurdles. Our speakers at this event were: Barry Allen: President & CEO, Urodynamix Technologies (and former CEO of VSM MedTech Ltd.) David Main: President & CEO, Aquinox Pharmaceuticals (and former CEO of Inex Pharmaceuticals Corp.) Dr. Jack Pacey: President, Verathon Medical Canada (and former CEO of Glidescope) Cynthia Roney: VP Marketing, Neovasc Inc. (and former CEO of Xillix Technologies) The roundtable was followed by the second LifeSciences BC Medical Device Mingler, where guests from throughout our community enjoyed networking at the stylish Saltlik restaurant.  As with previous minglers, this event was a valuable opportunity to make connections, very well attended and a great way to end the day.  Sessions attendees learn about a case study
