Technology Partnership Mission to the First International Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CITTC) conference to be held in Nanjing

International Science and Technology Partnership Canada (ISTPCanada) in collaboration with Jiang Su provincial government in China is pleased to invite Canadian SME’s to joint a Technology Partnership mission to the first International Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CITTC) conference to be held in Nanjing (Jiangsu province, China) from November 6th to November 8th 2008.

This is a great opportunity for Canadian SME’s to develop business and R&D relationships with China’s SMEs. ISTPCanada will work closely with its counterparts in China to setup one-on-one meeting between the Canadian SME’s and the interested Chinese companies.

ISTPCanada will provide 50% of the economy class fair and our counterpart will take care of all other expenses for the duration of conference in China for the selected companies. Please read more details on this initiative below.

Jiangsu is one of the most dynamic provinces in China, with an average annual growth in GDP at about 15% over the past 5 years, and a per capita GDP of USD4428 in 2007.  It has a strong industrial base, has many quality research institutes and enormous market potential. Jiangsu has a solid foundation for international technology collaboration, technology transfer and a huge market for technology applications.

The objective of this conference is to build a public platform for immediate and long term international cooperation; help Jiangsu companies develop interaction with the technology companies from other countries and to provide the international companies direct access to Jiangsu and China’s technology companies, institutes and the market. The conference includes plenary sessions, technology display and business discussions focused on new energy, environmental protection, biotechnology, medicine, nanotechnology, equipment manufacturing, modern agriculture and social development (food safety, water treatment, and others).  The participants will also have the opportunity to visit other key industrial cities, including Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou and our Chinese’s counterpart could help arrange further one-on-one meetings with local companies and institutes for the visiting companies.

ISTPCanada is pleased to announce that with the help of our Chinese counterpart, we will actively support Canadian companies in identifying potential partners and helping arrange one-on-one meetings prior to the visit. Companies that are interested in R&D Collaboration, commercialization and other business activates with Chinese’s companies are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity.

ISTPCanada and our Chinese’s counterpart will also provide a financial support to Canadian SME’s for this mission. Jiangsu government will sponsor the hotel, meals and ground transportation during the conference and ISTPCanada will provide financial support to sponsor up to 50% of the travel expense (economy class return airfare from Canada to Nanjing, China) to the eligible candidates. Eligible candidates are the participants from technology-based Canadian companies.  Government and crown agency personnel are welcome to join the conference but will not be eligible for ISTPCanada funding.
