LifeSciences BC, along with BIOTECanada and BIO, is proud to be a co-host of this upcoming Summit.  This meeting will continue and expand the essential exchange between industry, academia and government that has been so successful at the World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing. Local supporting organizations are NRC-IRAP, Genome BC the BC Innovation Council, and the Vancouver Economic Development Commission. Read more.

We’re looking for local sponsors and support for this conference.  Please download the brochure for more information, and contact Bob Ingratta if your organization is interested in being involved.

Nations on all sides of the Pacific are increasingly looking for sustainable sources of energy and cleaner, more efficient methods of industrial production, including new ways to make pharmaceuticals and other chemicals. Biotech applications that can enable industrial processes to utilize agricultural instead of petrochemical feedstocks are growing in importance in the Pacific Rim countries. Biobased economies in various states of complexity and development are emerging throughout the region.

While there have been a number of conferences in Asia dealing with biofuels, BIO's Industrial and Environmental Section believes that there have been none that fully integrate the broad spectrum of industrial biotechnology. To that end the Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy will bring together scientists, government officials, industry executives and investors from North America and throughout the Pacific Rim region to highlight recent advances in genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics in the energy and manufacturing space. The conference organizers hope to foster international business relationships that will spur development of biobased economies in countries that have large agricultural feedstock resources.
