LifeSciences BC Completes Integration of BC BioProducts Association and Welcomes Bob Ingratta to the LifeSciences BC Team
LifeSciences BC is pleased to announce that we have completed the integration of the BC BioProducts Association into LifeSciences BC. We feel that joining together forms a strong organization capable of serving the diverse needs of the broader life sciences community in British Columbia.
In order to fulfill our mandate with this merger, LifeSciences BC is pleased to welcome Bob Ingratta, BioProducts and BioEnergy Sector Manager to our staff complement! Effective June 16, Bob has taken up this newly-developed position.
Some of you may already know Bob, as he is on the Board of BioTalent Canada; Past-Chair of BioteCanada Agriculture and Nutrition Advisory Board; and has guest lectured on biotechnology and innovation at the Universities of Ottawa and Guelph.
Bob is President of Fast-Trak Strategies and he was formally Vice President of Regulatory and International Affairs for Monsanto Canada Inc. In the late 90’s, he had supported Searle Pharmaceutical regulatory drug approval for Celebrex; Health Canada’s policy development for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals; and industry leadership with Canada government to develop a biotechnology regulatory framework. He also negotiated with Eastern Africa governments to sign a biotechnology agreement with Kenya and develop environmental plans for Lake Victoria.
As BioProducts and BioEnergy Sector Manager Bob will be the primary liaison person to LifeSciences BC members and stakeholders from the bioproducts sector, and will participate in policy discussions related to the development of this sector.
Bob can be reached at bingratta@lifesciencesbc.ca, or 604-602-5402. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Bob!
