LifeSciences BC, along with BIOTECanada and BIO, is proud to be a co-host of this upcoming Summit.  This meeting will continue and expand the essential exchange between industry, academia and government that has been so successful at the World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing. Local supporting organizations are NRC-IRAP, Genome BC the BC Innovation Council, and the Vancouver Economic Development Commission. Read more.

LifeSciences BC was proud to have recently partnered with our Provincial Government and members of our academic research community through the University Presidents’ Council to lead a delegation to Beijing and Shanghai, China from May 23rd – 30th, 2008. LifeSciences BC Completes Integration of BC BioProducts Association and Welcomes Bob Ingratta to the LifeSciences BC Team

LifeSciences BC is pleased to announce that we have completed the integration of the BC BioProducts Association into LifeSciences BC.  We feel that joining together forms a strong organization capable of serving the diverse needs of the broader life sciences community in British Columbia. 

In order to fulfill our mandate with this merger, LifeSciences BC is pleased to welcome Bob Ingratta, BioProducts and BioEnergy Sector Manager to our staff complement!  Effective June 16, Bob has taken up this newly-developed position.  Read more

12th Annual Salmon BBQ

This year marked the 12th anniversary of LifeSciences BC's Annual Salmon BBQ.  With over 150 guests attending and overlooking the panoramic views of the Straight of Georgia and the mountains of Howe Sound, the salmon barbeque held on June 4, 2008 offered members of our life sciences community a chance to gather for an informal summer dinner and network amongst their peers.  Read more

BIO 2008 a Success, Places British Columbia on World Stage

LifeSciences BC led a delegation of over 100 British Columbians to BIO San Diego this year from June 17 - 21.  BIO was attended by about 20,000 people, and Canada had the largest national delegation at about 1,000 delegates strong.  This year at BIO, jurisdictions around the world took the opportunity to make important announcements, demonstrating their governments’ strong interest in interest and support of biotechnology.  Such news from across the globe included.... Read more



India Comes Calling

In our efforts to continue to build relationships with emerging life sciences centres around the world, LifeSciences BC recently partnered with the Canada-India Business Council, the India Merchants’ Chamber and the BC Ministry of Technology, Trade and Economic Development to help welcome approximately 100 Indian government and business leaders to BC as part of the India Calling 2008 delegation June 18-19th.  Read more
