Government Accepts Drug Plan Recommendations

The management of our Province's healthcare system, and Pharmacare Program specifically, has long been identified as a key issue affecting the developing of our life sciences industry in BC. As such, LifeSciences BC has been actively engaged in addressing this issue, ultimately working to improve the environment for patient care, adoption of innovative technologies, and international investment. In this context, we are very pleased to share the announcement from the Ministry of Health with you. This announcement is in response to the recently-submitted Pharmaceutical Taskforce Report which identifies 12 specific actions to improve the aforementioned environment -- recommendations that have all been accepted by Government, and will begin to be acted on immediately.

Provincial Government Invests $50M in Genome BC

Government of Canada Invests $800,000 in Research at Genome BC

Vancouver, BC – Western Canada’s ability to develop and commercialize new innovations in the field of genomics will increase thanks to a four-year investment by the Government of Canada through Western Economic Diversification Canada. An investment of $800,000 over four years will create a series of 12 multi-stakeholder networks for the application of genomics to key economic sectors in Western Canada through Genome BC.  Read more.
