Survey Questions for IP managers regarding an "IAM" (Intellectual Asset Management) subgroup of the Vancouver LES Chapter
Would you be interested in joining an association specific to IP managers in BC, focused on IP management issues? If you are, we’d like to get your thoughts and input so we can determine demand and needs before starting up. We have posted a brief survey here that will only take a few minutes to answer.
If the survey link does not work, copy/paste the following into your browser http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=heZ3tw0YvaBtqRM2IXIgKg_3d_3d
Benefits Specific topics of interest and benefits would be targeted from the business perspective to IP managers and corporate counsel. The IAM Group will aim to provide a peer-based group from innovation-based companies that will act as a forum to present, share and exchange ideas and best practices within the intellectual property management field.
This will be accomplished through:
1) Networking – through the creation of a network of peers that are primarily corporate and business professionals that deal with complex IP and management decisions on a regular basis. 2) Educating – through professional development and sharing and exchanging ideas on IP management best practices and activities that would be of benefit to our firms, and career development for new or potential IP managers. 3) Public Outreach –raising the profile of IP management issues within our businesses and our industry.
Proposed Structure
A subgroup of the LES (Licensing Executive Society) focused on Intellectual Asset Management and in-house IP managers. Meetings based in Vancouver, with meetings and schedules setup to encourage Vancouver Island and other BC participants to travel, or web conference in. Events would not be restricted to LES members, but may have a reduced attendance fee for LES members.
Again, if you are interested please take a few minutes to fill out the survey as it will shape the direction of our first kickoff meeting.
