Jasbir Brar, an employee from British Columbia's Ministry of Economic Development commented,
"The Biotechnology and Beyond: Introduction to the Life Sciences Industry course is a tremendous source of knowledge and information for individuals whose work touches on the Life Sciences sector but who have no formal training in the sector. I found the course to be an excellent introduction to the fundamental life sciences principles, issues and terminology. Course Instructor, Dr. Paul Barran, makes use of his extensive experience in the sector and uses real and easy to understand examples to explain the concepts!"

LifeSciences BC 07/08 Membership Renewals
LifeSciences BC would like to thank our members for renewing their 2007/08 membership. Without the support of our members, we could not have undertaken our numerous successful policy and advocacy initiatives this past year, alongside our ongoing LifeSciences British Columbia events and programs such as our Breakfast Speaking Series, Industry Roundtables, sanofi-aventis biotech challenge and the BC Biotechnology Awards.
In February of this year, BC Biotech also announced a name change to LifeSciences British Columbia. The change in name is reflective of an even broader member association and an expanded Life Sciences Industry view beyond biopharmaceuticals. The organization will not begin to extend its advocacy, public policy development and awareness-building activities to ensure all aspects of the bio-economy continues to grow in British Columbia and Canada. We thank you for your continued support of our association under this exciting new branding.
If you would like information about membership renewals, please contact Sara Johnson at sjohnson@lifesciencesbc.ca or at 604-602-5228.
