Human Resources and Raising Capital Emerge as Common Themes at Vancouver Board of Trade’s Policy ForumBC Biotech Executive Director Karimah Es Sabar, along with Executive Directors and Presidents of four other technology associations discussed challenges that each face in growing their respective sectors during the Vancouver Board of Trade's Policy Forum: Competing Against the Best on November 23. Ms. Es Sabar encouraged participants to think globally when addressing issues such as gaining critical mass and skills shortages. "We cannot continue to think of ourselves within the context of Canada or the United States, but need to have a global perspective", stated Ms. Es Sabar. "We should be able to attract talent from anywhere in the world, retain the best people, recruit others, and develop our own."

Students:The Technology Vision Group, the producers of this event, have generously agreed to offer $10,000 in scholarships for graduate and post graduate students enrolled in a Biotechnology related program in Canada to attend this conference. The scholarship will provide full registration and incidental costs (as well as travel costs and accommodations for 2 nights for students outside Vancouver), and will be selected randomly from a pool of qualified applicants.
