David Christie is a highly accomplished President and Chief Executive Officer with a proven ability for commercializing technology, facilitating change and increasing shareholder value by delivering compelling financial results. Unique combination of experiences in early stage start-ups, turnarounds, revenue and profit acceleration, mergers and acquisitions across various industries, including environmental, information/communication technologies and medical devices. Mr. Christie’s strengths include implementing strategic change – quickly analyzes the current situation, creates a compelling vision for the future, documents the action plan to move from here to there and executes on the plan with tenacity and precision; delivering financial results – very adept at improving revenue and profit performance through sustainable growth and with appropriate financing; effectively commercializing technology – understands the challenges of turning brilliant concepts in to inventions, creating an effective intellectual property portfolio, overcoming regulatory, reimbursement, quality, manufacturing and logistic challenges, to deliver products to market and realize double-digit returns on investment, especially with innovative new technologies.

Today David is consulting for various emerging medical device and health service companies who need his domain expertise and track record of success to improve their performance.  David has real passion for the life sciences industry and expresses this through his excellence in business and organizational development.

In 2006 David was recruited as President, CEO and Director of Pyng Medical.  In two years, David took Pyng's business from break-even and no revenue growth, to more than double the revenue and close to $1 million/year in operating profits.  He also acquired three new technologies, two of which were immediately accretive to earnings, and led the development of their next generation vascular access product. 

In his prior role as Chief Executive Officer at InnerVision Medical Technologies Inc., he was instrumental in raising $2 million, assembling an international team of professionals, and leading the development of Flash Ultrasound™ technology. In his previous role as Chief Operations Officer at VSM MedTech Ltd, David was responsible for manufacturing, regulatory, quality assurance, and service of functional brain imaging systems and blood pressure monitors, contributing significantly to the growth of VSM from a company with no revenue and 12 employees to $15 million in revenue and 175 employees.

In prior roles as Executive Vice President and General Manager, David led the engineering and business development initiatives on ground-breaking blood pressure technologies and, prior to that as Vice President Sales and Marketing, successfully launched their proprietary blood pressure monitor (BpTRU™) and established international distribution. David was Vice President and Regional General Manager, BC and Alberta, for Medigas, Canada’s leading respiratory care company. David held increasingly senior management positions with American Hospital Supply, which was acquired by Baxter Corporation, the world’s largest supplier of medical-surgical supplies to hospitals.

David has his Masters in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Montana
